At Washington Art Glass we manufacture bespoke digitally printed and toughened glass. This means we do not stock standard printed glass products and designs in-store. Our in-house glass technicians and design team are on hand to create glass to meet your requirements and specification. Every day is different in our Washington based office, each customer has their own unique idea for interior and exterior printed glass art. Our one 0ff printed glass means that each customer has something personal to them. And to make it even more special it will have been designed from their ideas and their creative imagination. We love it when customers come to us with bespoke ideas, for instance, splashbacks, shower screens or other products because it means we are creating artwork that has meaning to them. Alternatively, our customers can choose from stock images, for wood, marble, or other textures – the choice is yours.
Below, you can see some examples of our most recent work. Further down the page, we describe the printing process using our state-of-the-art DipTech technology software.
New clients propose new challenges and we love to rise to them. If you have a project or an idea that isn’t showcased within our website, please get in touch with us and let us see how we can begin to work with you.
On-site, our showroom carries many examples of just what is possible if you find yourself needing a little inspiration or guidance with your project.
Once we understand your needs, we hand it over to our skilled & experienced design team. It's at this stage that your ideas begin to come to life, either through photo manipulation, or via a design from scratch.
If it's from scratch, our designers begin by hand drawing your custom design, giving your work that one-of-a-kind appeal. From here it's digitally enhanced and we provide you with a mock up of your project. Once we have the green light, it's over to production.
First, we cut and shape the glass using our state-of-the-art CNC machine. It's at this stage, if required, we make cut-outs and drill any necessary holes.
The glass is cleaned and the digital image is printed onto the glass surface. The glass is then heated to a near molten state as the inks are fused into the glass before being allowed to cool, sealing the ink in place, much like the tattoo.
Your finalised project is then checked for imperfections, cleaned, and polished before being delivered to yourself, or put into safe store for your collection.
With some projects, such as balustrades or shower screens, we also offer an installation service so that you can have complete peace of mind with your finished project.
